Kanha National Park experiences a significant variation in its climate, characterized by its tropical nature. During the summer months (April to June), the temperatures can soar up to 45 degrees Celsius, resulting in hot and dry conditions. The monsoon season begins in June and lasts until September, bringing an average rainfall of around 1800 mm, which revitalizes the lush vegetation.
As the year progresses to the months of November to February, the park experiences cold and scenic winters. The temperatures can drop considerably during this period, with frost occasionally covering the meadows, and early mornings can witness temperatures as low as -2 degrees Celsius.
The park's altitude also varies across its terrain, ranging from approximately 600 meters (1900 ft.) at Kanha Village to 870 meters (2900 ft.) at Bamhni Dadar plateau, adding to the diversity of the landscape and its wildlife.
